Hull Repair

Hull repair on a big car carrier while the ship is at anchor. Temporary repair and installation of new stiffeners, end brackets and reinforcements. This job was class relevant and under supervision of the DNV submitting of Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and Repair Procedure to the class society prior repairs for approval.

Main Engine LO Cooler Cover New

Main engine lube oil cooler manufacturing of new cover including pipe connections, built-up welding’s on the cover flange, installation of new gaskets and final pressure test.

Boiler Expansion Ring Installation

Boiler expansion ring renewal. Submitting of Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and Repair Procedure to the class society prior repairs for approval.

Removal of old ring remains, mechanical treatment of all contact surfaces before welding’s. Installation of new expansion ring including insulation materials (55mm) and cover ring. Eventually, applying of heat resistance sealing compound (1500 °C) for additional gas tightness.

Steering Gear Overhauling

Overhauling of rotary vane steering gear including of machining of the top cover, replacement of lower rotor seals and gland gaskets and liner exchange. Overhauling of both lock valves and final system check incl. actuator pressure test (75 bar).

Windlass Repair

Forward PS/SB windlass renewal without removal of the entire winch/windlass. Removal of old/damaged brake linings and drum. Cut off the old chain wheel side plate and old chain guide. Renewal of chain wheel by built-up welding’s (7-10mm). Manufacturing of a new side plate and brake lining drum including manufacturing and installation of new brake linings and chain guides. Submitting of Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and Repair Procedure to the class society prior repairs for approval.

Bulk Carrier Crane Repair and Load Test

Cargo Crane 1 hydraulic system diagnostic, repair and system check including load test. Exchange of pressure control and safety valves, load sensor adjustments. Repair of directional control valves.

 

Main Engine LO Cooler Repair

On-board repair of the 3.5 tons main engine lube oil cooler pipe bundle (830 pcs) including flange repair and pressure test under 5 bar.

 

Main Engine Fuel Pump Overhauling

Supervision Job – Shell Plate and Frame Replacement after Hull damage under DNV observation

After setting the markings start with cut outs of the damaged areas. Preparation of new hull shell plate inserts and HP profiles. Producing of new cargo hold ventilation duct inserts.

 

Installation of New Shell Plate Inserts

Installation of new shell plate inserts by carbon gouging and ceramic welding as well as ventilation duct plates and final cover welding’s.

 

Exchange of Stiffeners and Frames and HP Profiles

Correct executed welding’s of all components and ultrasonic and vacuum testing after completion under supervision of the DNV surveyor.

 

After Completion

All weldings completed and checked by the DNV surveyor. The final step is surface treatment and final application of three paint coats.
